Hi Brewers,


The club have gotten their hands on a basic sensory kit and we will be hosting some off-flavour training to help build some knowledge and improve our beers!

The kit will help provide a link between some of the flavours we are tasting and where they are coming from.


The main flavours covered are;

Acetaldehyde – green apple, cut grass
Contamination – sour & buttery
D.M.S. – cooked corn, cooked vegetables
Diacetyl– butter, butterscotch
Isoamyl acetate – banana, peardrop
Papery – cardboard, oxidised


We will kick off with lunch, then tastings and beers, then we will head to Your Mates for some additional “research”
